Highly Commended: Enterprise Rent-a-Car - ARMS
The victory in the Best Daily Rental System category goes to Leasedrive Velo's Rental:Manager.
Originally launched in 2003 in response to a growing desire for fleets to control their own rental booking online, the system allows fleets to sort out their entire rental requirements via the website any hour of the day or night, giving access to a claimed 132,783 vehicles from 924 locations across the UK.
Customised for each company, Rental:Manager allows the user to control authorisation levels for individual employees, with every booking confirmation emailed through to a fleet's main contact, while regular booking details such as collection and delivery addresses can be saved to speed up the process. One of the site's recent evolutions is a favourites feature where Leasedrive Velo claims cars can be booked in 20 seconds as users retrieve data from previous transactions.
Looking to the future, Rental:Manager is set for further tweaks later this year with the introduction of a scheme to allow fleets to offset the CO2 created through their vehicle rental, to combine with the paperless billing designed to reduce the operation's carbon footprint. On top of that, a new European Rental:Manager development, originally devised for the British Army, will be launched to the market before the end of this year.
If necessary, Leasedrive Velo offers on-site training and user manuals, and can supply as detailed reports as necessary to satisfy a business's accounting and cost-control requirements.
In a hotly contested category, BusinessCar is also pleased to award Highly Commended status to Enterprise Rent-A-Car's Automated Rental Management System.
The free online application is set-up by Enterprise, which also provides free training and support. ARMS allows fleets to manage rental bookings, authorisations, extensions and billing online.
