Techies 2010 - Best Leasing and Contract Hire System: Tusker Fleetdesk

Date: 24 August 2010

Tusker's Fleetdesk is a web-based contract hire and fleet management system that's also been developed to incorporate the new development everyone's talking about in the business car market - salary sacrifice.

Tusker claims to have been the first company to embrace the salary sacrifice issue. The SS4C element of the system works as a "fully functioning salary sacrifice tool", according to Tusker, opening up the same functionality enjoyed by company car drivers to the salary sacrifice community within a firm.

Tusker is also able to offer Fleetdesk as a white label product. It can be customised with an individual business's branding, corporate colours, company details and homepage, making it appear part of the firm's internal operation. Other examples of Fleetdesk's technical prowess include the ability to integrate with supplier systems, such as Epyx 1Link, and the SS4C salary sacrifice element of the arrangement will both link with benefit providers' websites, giving the driver a single sign-in point, and with motor insurance companies to provide instant quotes.

Firms can set fleet policies, with vehicles excluded on CO2 limits set by fleet managers, and Tusker is able to set up the system to impose levies as a way of encouraging drivers into low-CO2 cars.

Inchcape Fleet Solutions' new Multi-Bid system, which allows fleets to collate vehicle rates from multiple funders as a way of lowering the cost of each individual vehicle, took a Highly Commended award.
