The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2012 - Fast-Fit: Kwik-Fit Fleet

Date: 24 January 2012

Another year, another victory for Kwik-Fit Fleet in a category that it has utterly owned; no other sector in the BusinessCar Awards has been so completely dominated, and this success leaves it just one short of 20 in a row.

But it's not surprising it is the most recognisable of brands when the topic turns to tyre, exhaust, brakes or battery replacement. The firm has 670 centres across the country that are open seven days a week, including bank holidays, and a mobile operation over and above that. Around 300 of its centres are also set up to conduct servicing on all makes of vehicle, with the same number capable of carrying out MoT tests.

The company was acquired last March for £637m by the Japanese Itochu Corporation, which also owns Stapleton's Tyre Service in the UK, and the new owner has already invested in refurbishing the Kwik-Fit network. The company has also been pushing its winter tyre programme, stockpiling 200,000 tyres across the second half of last year to meet demand from fleets turned on to the idea of specific winter rubber in the wake of two harsh winters.

So, another win for the leading fast-fit brand, which will be looking to make it a double decade at the top in 2013.
