Awards 2012 - Lower Medium: Audi A3

Date: 24 January 2012

The A3 retains its crown as the business car market's favourite lower medium model in one of the most handed-around categories in the BusinessCar Awards, and in doing so breaks a pattern of only winning in odd years and losing out in evens. BMW's 1-series emerged victorious in 2010 while Honda's Civic and the Ford Focus have also taken the prize in recent years.

It's easy to see why the A3 is such a favourite. The Audi badge is more desirable than ever, and the A3's ability to offer a range that stretches from a sub-100g/km model through to the 340hp RS3, all available in either three- or five-door Sportback form, means there's a choice for every company car driver looking for a prestigious brand without high running costs. There's even the Cabriolet A3 for those able to pick such glamorous models as a company car.

The A3 should become even more desirable later this year, when the next-generation model is unveiled. Due on sale towards the back-end of 2012, it will be that car's job to ensure the A3's BusinessCar Awards winning run is continued into the future.
