Awards 2012 - Small 4x4: Range Rover Evoque

Date: 24 January 2012

The most visually striking of the cars launched in 2011 is now a BusinessCar Awards winner in 2012, as the new Range Rover Evoque grabs the small 4x4 prize.

The most affordable and the cleanest Range Rover ever launched, the Evoque comes with a range of engines that drop as low as sub-130g/km in two-wheel drive, with prices starting below £28,000.

The five-door version will be the most relevant for this market, but there's also a three-door Coupe, which looks even more like a concept car, that has found its way onto the road, although practicality is predictably sacrificed and it's also more expensive than the more spacious five-door.

But it's the striking looks that have given the Evoque such a strong start, with the first half-year of production sold before the car was even launched.

This is also the car Land Rover bosses have said will launch the brand into the corporate arena like never before. The combination of low CO2, good RVs, more accessible P11D price and those stand-out looks will give the brand a new business car appeal, a fact proven by this BusinessCar reader-voted award.
