Honda has revealed its new Jazz ahead of its debut at the Geneva motor show next week. It is due to go on sale in the UK in September. Honda said the pricing would remain competitive with its rivals.

The new Jazz will be powered by a new 102hp 1.3-litre petrol engine from its Earth Dreams series. Efficiency figures haven't been revealed yet, but expect more information to become available at the show.

A Honda spokesman told BusinessCar that other Jazz powertrains would be revealed in the future.

The Jazz shares its platform with the forthcoming HR-V crossover. Honda claimed it has the best luggage space in its class - 354 litres rear seats up, and 884 litres seats down.

Safety-wise, Honda's intelligent speed assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, traffic light warning, traffic sign recognition system and high-beam support systems feature as standard on all trim levels other than the base model.

The Jazz features either a five-inch LCD touchscreen display system or a seven-inch infotainment system depending on the trim level. The latter runs an Android operating system and provides access to internet-based services such as real-time traffic information, news and weather as well as displaying car information such as a trip meter, fuel economy and journey time.

The Honda infotainment system also pairs with smartphones through MirrorLink, wi-fi, Bluetooth or USB.
