Toyota has revealed a single picture of its next generation Avensis, due to make it's full public debut at the Pairs motor show on 2 October.
Going head-to-head with the Vauxhall Insignia, the new Avensis is in its third generation.
The UK built Avensis will go on sale in January 2009 with a range of more powerful yet more efficient engines than the current model.
A Toyota spokesman added: "It retains the high quality, refinement and equipment levels that are an established Avensis hallmark."
Pricing and further details will be revealed nearer the car's on-sale date.
