The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2008 - Accident Management: RAC Services

Date: 22 January 2008

RAC Services

Delivering what it promised after taking this prize last year has led to RAC again picking up the gong for best accident management firm.

The alignment of the firm's accident management department with its legal services division and the introduction of online tracking of the accident management process are two steps designed to ease the unpleasant business of dealing with an accident. Joining the two departments has made it easier than ever to recoup those out-of-pocket accident expenses such as insurance, excess and the cost of damaged property. And the online tracking means fleet managers can follow any claim's progress from collection at an accident site through the bodyshop stages of repair to getting the car back on the road.

"There are hundreds of people out there who call themselves accident managers. That hooks in credit hire, private injury and others," said head

of operations for accident and legal services Phil Mairs. "But that's to feed a particular part of their business. There are very few pure accident managers and RAC has been doing that for 13 years. If it can result from an accident, then it's covered."
