Awards 2008 - Daily Rental: Enterprise Rent-a-Car

Date: 22 January 2008

Don Moore

Enterprise's win in the Daily Rental category of the BusinessCar Awards is a sweet victory as it ends a five-year run by one of its chief rivals.

The win, voted for by the readers of BusinessCar, comes at the end of the firm's 50th anniversary year. Under the leadership of Don Moore (pictured), Enterprise, which has a fleet of 35,000 vehicles in the UK, launched the 50 Million Tree Pledge last year as a way of marking the firm's five decades in rental. The scheme offers a chance to give something back to the community by planting 50 million trees over the next 50 years. The first belt of UK reforestation is underway near Loch Katrine in Scotland.

Enterprise, which has 325 outlets across the UK, puts its win down to first-rate customer service.

"Enterprise offers fleet customers an unmatched level of service. Its employees are only eligible for promotion if their customer satisfaction scores are above the company average, so they have every incentive to go above and beyond the norm and make daily rental a completely satisfying experience. Key to this is a fleet consultancy that ensures organisations are using rental effectively," said a spokesman.

"Another important factor in Enterprise's success is its free Pick Up service. This means fleets don't have to pay extra for delivery and collection, and leads to fewer car journeys, lower emissions and swifter service."
