The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2008 - Windscreens: Autoglass

Date: 22 January 2008

It's now safe to say that Autoglass dominates this category, with 2008 being the company's seventh win in a row. MD Nigel Doggett puts the win down to a "renewed and significant focus on our service levels".

Doggett said the firm takes a weekly independent survey of customer satisfaction levels, and Autoglass is currently running at 95% either good or excellent and only 2% poor.

Training is also important at Autoglass, and Doggett said the firm is the only one that's developed an accreditation programme with both the Institute of the Motor Industry and British insurance centre Thatcham, something that will be rolled out to all the firm's 1200 technicians during 2008.

"It helps us attract the best technicians in the industry," said Doggett, "and gives them the recognition of a skilled profession."

Doggett said the firm's policy of repairing windscreens rather than replacing wherever possible has also found fleet favour, both on cost and environmental grounds as well as getting drivers back on the road more quickly.

All in all, it shows why Autoglass has once again become the BusinessCar windscreen supplier of the year.
