PRE-BUDGET REPORT '08: Boost for disabled drivers

Date: 24 November 2008

Disabled drivers that need an automatic because they are unable to drive a manual will, from 6 April 2009, be able to use the equivalent manual model to calculate their benefit-in-kind tax liability.

These drivers were already allowed to use the manual model's CO2 figure, but the new announcement will mean drivers using a cheaper P11D figure to calculate a monthly tax figure.
