The start point for the best source of fleet information

Mazda 4x4's fleet boost

Date: 30 October 2009

Mazda is hoping the launch of a diesel engine in its CX-7 off-roader will attract users coming out of more premium brands.

"It's got a good, premium feel. It's a good executive alternative and there's one spec with no options bar metallic paint, which leasing companies and RV providers like," Mazda fleet boss Peter Alibon told BusinessCar.

"We're going through the process of getting the minimum volumes right and it's now about whether we push into shoehorning it into more fleets than it may naturally go into."

Alibon talked of looking at taking sales from rivals including the BMW X3, Ford Kuga and Honda CR-V.
