The start point for the best source of fleet information

BUDGET 2010: The headlines

Date: 24 March 2010

Alistair Darling has delivered the last Budget before the general election

The Chancellor's last Budget before the general election focussed on a range of top-end financial details regarding nurturing the economic recovery, but there were still plenty of details that will interest business car operators.

As well as clarification of the BIK situation for plug-in hybrids and the delaying of part of the fuel duty rise, neglecting to increase National Insurance payments will be a relief to fleets, and the £100m pledged to help deal with the national pothole epidemic is a step in the right direction.

There was also talk of more help with encouraging green transport, and enhancing the road network, as well as a re-emphasis of plans to sell off ownership of the Dartford Crossing. Click through to BusinessCar's Budget microsite for all the latest information and industry response.
