The start point for the best source of fleet information

Alphabet partners with EDF Energy

Date: 24 October 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Top-three BC50 company Alphabet has agreed a partnership with electricity company EDF Energy to support its electric vehicle consultancy service.

The company's electric arm - AlphaElectric - will work closely with EDF to provide advice to customers about EV charging points and guidance on modes and speeds of charging infrastructure.

BMW-owned Alphabet claims its AlphaElectric "demonstrates Alphabet's serious intention to drive EV adoption through corporate and public sectors". The firm also claims the service is marque-neutral

"One of the biggest concerns for fleets when it comes to introducing EVs has been whether their drivers will be able to access a convenient and effective charging infrastructure at the office or home," said Kit Wisdom, head of corporate mobility at Alphabet.

"By partnering with EDF Energy, we can now offer charging solutions to customers for workplace requirements nationwide, alongside a residential charging solution partly funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV)," said Wisdom.
