Facelifted 2015 Great Wall Steed revealed

Date: 26 September 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Great Wall has revealed a facelifted version of its Steed pick-up truck. It will be priced from £14,998 and will go on sale in mid-October.

It is powered by the same unit as before, a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is now Euro 5 compliant. The Steed will have a six-year / 125,000 mile warranty as standard, which was introduced in April 2013.

The engine produces 139hp, emits 222g/km CO2 and has a torque figure of 305Nm over a rev range between 1800 and 2800. The payload remains the same as the outgoing model - 1050kg - while Great Wall has increased the braked trailer weight from two tonnes to 2.5 tonnes.

A Great Wall spokesman said that much of the £1000 price hike over the outgoing model factors in the additional standard features - including electric windows and daytime running lights - as well as price inflation over the last two years.
