First hydrogen Hyundai cars arrive in UK

Date: 21 October 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Hyundai claims to have broken new ground in delivering six fuel cell vehicles to paying customers in the UK.

Organisations including Transport for London, hydrogen fuel cell company ITM Power and chemical company Johnson Mattey are among those who have bought the zero-emission ix35 hydrogen vehicle.

A Hyundai spokesman could not confirm the price of the hydrogen ix35 but told BusinessCar the Korean company is planning on building 1000 more hydrogen vehicles before 2017.

The spokesman also confirmed that more fuel cell ix35s will be coming "in the new year with owners lined up," but would not name the customers.
