Ford reveals pricing details for new Focus

Date: 02 September 2014   |   Author:

The next-generation Ford Focus will be priced from £13,995 when it goes on sale in November.

There has been no increase in pricing for the entry-level Studio model. The Focus diesel model range is priced from £17,995.

The new Focus range retains a six-series line-up of Studio from £13,995, Style (£16,795), Zetec (£18,295), Zetec S (£20,045), Titanium (£19,795) and Titanium X (£21,795).

Fleet drivers will have a range of petrol and diesel engines which come in below the all important 130g/km point, with a 118hp 1.5-litre diesel engine which will offer a 10% fuel economy improvement with CO2 emissions reduced from 109g/km to 98g/km.

A new 1.5-litre Ecoboost engine delivers 180hp and 270Nm torque - the same as the outgoing 1.6-litre unit yet with fuel economy improved by 7% and CO2 emissions reduced to 127g/km CO2.

Ford is looking to push the fact the Focus will be available with new technology features including

Perpendicular Parking which will aid drivers to reverse into spaces alongside other vehicles. Customers will also be able to spec a cross traffic alert system which warns drivers reversing out of a parking space of vehicles that may be about to pass behind them, as well as a park-out assist which helps drivers as they exit a parallel parking space.

Ford's second generation Sync 2 infotainment will come with the focus and includes a high-resolution, eight-inch colour touch screen and voice control to access audio, navigation, climate control and mobiles phones. Sync 2's navigation system also offers a split-screen display for the first time on a Ford vehicle in Europe.

Ford's MyKey aid for novice drivers will also appear on the new Focus.  The Ford MyKey technology, which debuted on Fiesta, lets owners programme a key - usually for younger drivers - that restricts the top speed, reduces the maximum volume of the audio system, and can disable it altogether if the driver and passengers are not using safety belts.
