Lex Autolease rolls out new end of contract processes

Date: 19 November 2014   |   Author:

Lex Autolease has launched new iPad-based technology to improve its end of contract processes.

Technology includes full video footage and images of end of contract inspections and any damage found, which will now be available to customers.

Lex said the iPad technology is designed to provide clarity and consistency for both customers and vehicle inspectors.

The move comes after consultation with drivers and fleet managers to improve clarity of process, communication and to improve the processes surrounding damage charges.

A simplified pricing structure around damage types will be published in full for customers in advance of their contract expiring.

The pricing details all charges by vehicle size and damage type and Lex believes it will help customers decide whether to undertake repairs on a vehicle before its return.

Invoicing for damage and movement will be automated, and customers can opt in to a series of alerts to be kept informed of each stage of the dehire process.

All of the new end of contract features will be available to Lex customers through its LAi online portal which will include FAQ documents, BVRLA guides to fair wear and tear and self-appraisal tools.

Andy Hartley, commercial director at Lex Autolease, said: "The end of contract process can seem daunting for customers.

"We want to take the lead in creating an easier, smoother and more transparent dehire procedure for everyone involved.

"Our new technology will throw open the inspection process for both drivers and fleet managers, and pricing structure means there'll be fewer surprises when customers come to hand back their vehicle."
