Incident and fleet management company FMG has appointed former Lex Autolease corporate sales director Mark Chessman as its chief operating officer.

His appointment comes after Andrew Cope was appointed as the company's executive chairman in April, making left Zenith in the wake of its acquisition by Hg Capital.

FNG said Chessman will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business.

Chessman previously spent 12 years at Lex Autolease where he held a number of roles including finance director, deputy managing director, commercial director and its corporate sales director.

"FMG have always been very highly regarded in the outsourced incident management arena, and they have been both a respected competitor and supplier in my past." He said. "It is great to now be part of the FMG team and my aim is to ensure we maintain our market-leading position,"
