The start point for the best source of fleet information

Arval chases web-led SME growth

Date: 28 July 2015   |   Author: Tristan Young

Top five leasing firm Arval is aiming to grow sales in the small to medium size business market with the addition of its new webstore facility which aims to bring online leasing a step closer.

The webstore allows anyone - business customer or consumer - to search for their desired car, see lease prices, terms of the agreement, vehicle specification and other details.

The new Arval website, including the webstore, has been introduced to meet customer demand, according to Arval marketing director Robert Pieczka.

"The whole of our digital programme is based on the trend," he added. "Customers are wanting and needing these things."

Pieczka said that the website wasn't a substitute for expert staff, it has been put in place because some people expect to research and purchase online.

The webstore stops short of allowing customers to click to lease, instead moving prospective buyers into a conversation to check that the car they're after is suitable for their needs.

Pieczka added: "The overall transformation gives a competitive advantage and covers the online journey from prospect to fleet and driver."

Currently the UK webstore simply offers a search facility and pricing, however in the next few months this will move toward the webstore used in the French market which allows Arval to show alternative cars and also for customers to shop by price and not just by make and model.

When quizzed about the possibility that such a system could be used to lease direct to the public, rather than just to businesses, Pieczka said: "Today we do personal contract hire for very small businesses and we're focused on the business-to-business market at the moment."
