Ford extends fleet deal with Allianz

Date: 27 May 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Ford has retained a 250-car annual fleet supply deal with insurance company Allianz after beating 10 rival manufacturers during a review process.

The three-stage review and tender process for the contract included an employee test-drive panel. The Focus and Mondeo emerged as the top choices after the review.

Allianz has a single-brand fleet of 850 vehicles on an 80,000/four-year life cycle. Safety options, sustainability and whole-life costs were considered during the tender process.

The Focus estate powered by the firm's 120hp 1.5-litre diesel engine and Mondeo powered by Ford's 115hp 1.6-litre oil-burner will be joining the fleet.

"Safe driving and the reduction of risk is of the utmost importance to Allianz, so it was crucial that our fleet provider was able to meet our benchmark vehicle performance levels," said Abigail Swartz, corporate procurement manager at Allianz. "We were very impressed with the range of benefits that Ford was able to offer us, particularly the collision avoidance technology and the fuel-efficient diesel power units."
