Suzuki adds entry-level model to Celerio range

Date: 02 July 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Suzuki has an added an entry-level model to its Celerio supermini from £6999 and is on sale now.

Called SZ2, it is powered by the same 88hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine as the rest of the range. It emits 99g/km of CO2 and returns 65.7mpg.

The new model is £1000 cheaper than the SZ3 model and standard equipment includes six airbags, electric front windows, central locking and DAB radio with a CD tuner.

Suzuki claimed the Celerio has a class-leading luggage capacity of 245 litres with the rear seats up.

The Celerio was briefly taken off-sale in the UK in February following on from brake failure during a consumer magazine test at 80mph at Milbrook Proving Ground.

Suzuki carried out an immediate investigation into the cause, which related to a possible fault in the brake pedal release mechanism, and all affected cars were remedied within weeks.
