Vauxhall continues supply to BT with massive fleet order

BT with Vivaro fleet order

Vauxhall has supplied multinational telecommunications company British Telecoms (BT) with 2500 Vivaros and 330 Corsavans in its latest supply deal.

Vauxhall holds preferred supplier status with BT Fleet and has supplied over 20,000 vehicles to the company in the last decade.

BT engineers were consulted during the tender process and helped to chose the Vivaro L1H1 2900 90hp.

As part of their engagement in the fleet deal, the BT engineers were able to visit Vauxhall's Luton plant to see the Vivaro being made, and the plant also organised for the group to see the 500th van from their order.

"It's important that our engineers are driving the right van for them," said Mike Langford, BT Fleet senior customer relationship manager.

"Our vehicles need to be future-proof, reliable and user friendly, making the engineers who drive them the obvious people to help specify the vans."

BT Fleet ran the previous Vivaro on its fleet and Langford said the low running costs of the Vivaro also helped Vauxhall with the latest supply deal.

The fleet order from Vauxhall follows on for a deal made with Ford in March with an order of 500 Transit Customs, 200 Transit vans and 300 Fiesta vans.

Ford claimed the order was part of one of the biggest fleet regenerations undertaken by BT and comes after a review of its needs for the next seven years.
