VW emissions scandal: Cap predicts no change for VW Group RVs

Date: 29 September 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Residual value experts Cap have said that the ongoing Volkswagen Group emissions scandal will not have an impact on used values.

"The last global recall was the Toyota/Lexus issue, and despite the fact that this had serious safety implications, there was no discernible impact on used values," said Dylan Setterfield, senior forecasting editor at Cap.

However, Setterfield said the scandal does carry a reputational issue for the group, adding that it is likely VW will take steps to reassure customers and rebuild trust.
