The start point for the best source of fleet information

2016 Porsche Panamera unveiled

Date: 29 June 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Porsche has revealed its second-generation Panamera luxury vehicle ahead of the first cars hitting UK roads in November.

Three new engines power the range - a 550hp petrol V8, a 440hp petrol V6 and a 422hp diesel V8 motor.

The most fleet-friendly model at launch - the oil-burner - is capable of returning 42.1mpg and emitting 176g/km of CO2, and the German car maker claims this variant is the world's fastest production diesel thanks to its top speed of 177mph.

All engines in the range are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive system.

The new Panamera is longer (by 34mm), wider (by 6mm) and taller (by 5mm) than the outgoing model, which Porsche claims increases headroom, while luggage space is rated at 1304 seats down and 495l seats up, an increase of 50 litres over the seven-year old first-gen model.

All three models are available to order now - the entry-level petrol model costs from £88,700, the diesel from £91,788 and the range-topping 550hp petrol from £113,075, placing the Panerma against the likes of the cheaper, rear-wheel drive Maserati Quattroporte.

Other engines - including a successor to today's plug-in hybrid and entry-level RWD petrol and diesel models - are expected to arrive next year.
