Facelifted Kia Carens MPV revealed

Date: 23 September 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Kia has facelifted its Carens MPV, which is due to go on sale before the end of the year.

Additions to the model include an Eco Pack for the 114hp 1.7-litre diesel unit, which reduces its CO2 emissions to 109g/km from the existing variant's 117g/km of CO2, which places it in the 21% 2016/17 BIK band.

In order to achieve the CO2 reduction, the Eco Pack incorporates start/stop technology, low rolling resistance and a series of revised gear ratios.

Externally , the facelifted model introduces revised front and rear bumper and fog lamp designs as well as an updated grille, while the alloy wheels have a new design.

Inside, the Carens is available with the firm's seven or eight-inch touchscreen media system, which now includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto software for smartphone integration.

Full UK specifications and pricing information is set to be announced at the launch of the vehicle.
