Manheim launches new pre-auction inspection process

Date: 03 May 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Remarketing company Manheim has launched a pre-auction inspection service which it claims offers more checks than any other remarketing provider.

Known as SureCheck, the new service replaces Manheim's Assured programme and provides more information about vehicle conditions, which Manheim says helps buyers to make informed purchasing decisions.

The remarketing company is so confident in its vehicle-checking service that if within five days of purchase a customer finds a component that isn't working when it was certified the firm will repair the vehicle for free.

Manheim's vehicle inspectors carry out vehicle checks to three different levels - Gold, Silver and Bronze - covering up to 56 different elements on each vehicle.

After the vehicle inspection, a SureCheck checklist is produced, which informs potential buyers about the condition of the vehicle, detailing any components that aren't working.

The inspection report and checklist is viewable to buyers online, and at auction, with the information attached to the vehicle windscreen.

"The objective of buying a car is clearly to use it, or to sell it. Buyers never purchase vehicles with the aim of returning them, so our new SureCheck service provides a straightforward promise, that if there is a problem with a component that passed the specified checks, we will repair the vehicle for the customer," said Tim Hudson, managing director of Manheim Remarketing.

"The three levels of check provide clear information and choice to our buyers, enabling them to make the right choice for their business," he added.
