Nissan Navara aims for top spot

Date: 29 April 2016   |   Author:

Nissan is aiming to regain its position as top-selling pick-up in the sector with the new Navara, and the company is promising further economy improvements to what is already the most efficient vehicle in the sector.

"The Navara is still the benchmark in the segment," Nissan's LCV boss Ponz Pandikuthira told BusinessCar. "Number one in the segment is the aspired target, but we will not buy market share.

"Our goal is to bring LCVs to a strong profitable share," he continued. "You can make marginal profit by selling many units - some competitors have bought share in the last two years and you can see that in transaction prices - and you can do that for a couple of years, but it is not sustainable."
