TomTom launches new satnav series

Date: 03 May 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

TomTom has launched a new range of 'Start' satnav which features average speed limit information as standard.

According to the mapping and telematics giant's camera database, there are now 325 average speed cameras on roads compared with 167 zones in 2013.

The new satnav series will track speeds through these zones, ensuring that drivers are aware of their average speeds.

Another feature included with the new satnav series are maps that can be updated for free over the product's lifetime, while the firm's Advanced Lane Guidance system drivers to the correct lane when navigating complex junctions.

The models are available with 4.3, 5 and six-inch touchscreens and cost from £109.

"We are constantly striving to make more accurate maps, deliver faster and more detailed traffic information, and create smarter routing. This combination is what makes the TomTom driving experience so unique," said Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director of TomTom Consumer.

"Listening to our customers, we understand the responsibility we have as the most trusted companion to drivers, and with the new TomTom Start series, we're once again honouring that trust and confidence," Vigreux added.
