The start point for the best source of fleet information

Final spots available at ACFO's spring seminar

Date: 09 May 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

The last few spaces are available for ACFO's spring seminar which focuses on 'big data'.

The event takes place on 18 May at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire, and is sponsored by Audi and Lex Autolease.

During the day, delegates will hear from Nick Mitchell, service and technical manager at Audi, to find out how the company plans to use information from in-vehicle devices, while Craig McNaugton, corporate director at Lex, will give the leasing company's perspective.

Alex Ktorides, head of ethics and risk at law firm Gordon Dadds, will tackle possible legal issues caused by big data, while Ken Needham, director of fleet and logistics at estate Foxtons, will share the thoughts of a fleet decision-maker.

"We are currently at the tip of an iceberg. The arrival of big data will have a major impact on fleet operations and company car drivers," said John Pryor, chairman of ACFO. "Today's connectivity is the start of the journey towards the autonomous car, and while the secure exchange of data builds the foundations for new business activities and applications, there are significant risks and challenges regarding safety, security and privacy that need to be addressed.

He added: "The relationship between motor manufacturers, the vehicle leasing and fleet management industry, fleet decision-makers and company car drivers is set to change with the advent of big data and connected vehicles."

The event starts at 9am and a number of Audi models will be on display. To book a space at the seminar, email info@acfo.com.
