Date: 22 September 2017   |   Author: Debbie Wood

Renault has added a new higher-powered petrol engine and a new transmission option for the popular dCi 130 engine to the Kadar SUV range, which are available to order now, with first deliveries starting later this month.

The new 165hp turbo-charged petrol engine will now top the Kadjar range and completes the 0-62mph sprint in under ten seconds, while the introduction of the two-wheel drive dCi 130 automatic aims to offer customers greater choice in the range.

Fleets are now able to choose from a total of four engines and three transmissions across five trim levels in the Kadjar line-up.

The most efficient is the 110hp 1.5-litre diesel that emits 99g/km and returns 74.3mpg on the official combined cycle. The alternative diesel, the 130hp 1.6-litre diesel, emits 113g/km and achieves 65mpg when paired to a manual gearbox. The new auto gearbox combination raises CO2 to 123g/km, placing the car in a 26% BIK tax band for the current 2017/18 year and reduces fuel economy to 58.9mpg combined, while the 0-62mph sprint can be achieved in 9.2 seconds.

It is available from Dynamique Nav upwards in the range and is priced from £26,015.

The new 1.6-litre petrol engine can be specified from Dynamique Nav trim level upwards and is available in two-wheel drive guise only. Prices start from £22,915 and official figures include CO2 starting from 134g/km, meaning a 25% BIK band for the current tax year, and an official combined fuel economy from 47.1mpg. The 0-62mph sprint is also achieved in 11.1 seconds up to a top speed of 117mph.

A new Hands free Keycard with Walkaway Function has also been added to those cars in the Kadjar range with Dynamique Nav trim and above, enabling the driver to keep the key in their bag or pocket. When walking towards the Kadjar, the daytime running lights will turn on, the wing mirrors will unfold, puddle lights will illuminate and the car will unlock.
