New Vauxhall Grandland X SUV revealed

Further details and images of the forthcoming Grandland X SUV have been released by Vauxhall ahead of its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the Autumn. It'll sit between the Mokka X and the forthcoming Crossland X in the brand's SUV range when it goes on sale early in 2018.
When the new car arrives, it'll be up against big-selling rivals like the Renault Kadjar, Nissan Qashqai. Peugeot 3008 and Seat Ateca.
It carries over a lot of distinctive styling characteristics from the rest of the Vauxhall range, including a bold, chrome-trimmed grille, with the Griffin badge sitting in the middle of it. This is flanked by sharp LED headlamps, while the new car also gets a heavily creased bonnet that apes much of the rest of the range.
The optional black roof adds an element of personalisation, while a further crease goes all the way from the front wheel arches to the slender rear lights and across the tailgate. Meanwhile, the car's off-road pretensions are highlighted by those muscular wheel arches, black plastic cladding, raised ride-height, as well as front and rear skid plates.
Inside, Vauxhall claims plenty of interior space for five people thanks to a 2,675mm wheelbase, while bootspace is good for the class, offering 514 litres with the rear seats up and 1,652 litres with them down.
The new car will come equipped with a multitude of safety systems, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control with pedestrian detection and advanced park assist all coming as standard. Meanwhile, the new car is also available with ergonomic front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats and a hands free tailgate opening system.
Furthermore, all cars are set to come with the latest Intellilink infotainment system, which includes wireless inductive smartphone charging and the OnStar concierge system that now allows hotel booking and parking space search functions.
As yet, there's no word on engines, but we expect the company's 1.6-litre diesel to feature heavily in the range, while it could also benefit from the firm's new 1.5-litre petrol. Six speed manual and automatic gearboxes are also likely.
