Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo estate revealed at Geneva motor show

Date: 07 March 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Porsche has revealed an estate version of the Panamera sports executive saloon.

Called the Sport Turismo and set to make its world debut at next week's Geneva motor show, the model is the first Panamera to feature three rear seats.

First UK customer cars are due to arrive from 7 October this year.

Luggage capacity is improved by 20 litres on the saloon's figure to 520 litres with the rear seats up and 1,390 litres with the rear seats down. The Sport Turismo also benefits from an electrically operated tailgate and a low boot lip, making it easier for customers to load and unload the vehicle.

From launch, the Panamera will be powered by five engines, including the plug-in hybrid model, which carries a £4,000 premium over the equivalent saloon versions.

The 4S diesel Sport Turismo, priced from £97,067, is powered by the company's 422hp 4.0-litre diesel engine. In the saloon, the V8 diesel emits 176g/km of CO2 and returns 42.2mpg.

The plug-in hybrid model (priced from £83,288) is powered by a 325hp 2.9-litre petrol unit, mated to an electric motor which produces 134hp, giving a total output of 456hp.

All engines are use the company's four-wheel drive system, while the Sport Turismo introduces an active rear spoiler to the segment, which is deployed in three stages depending on the speed of the vehicle.

"For Porsche, the Panamera Sport Turismo is a step forwards into a new segment, but retains all of those values and attributes that are characteristic of Porsche," said Michael Mauer, director of style at Porsche.
