Date: 22 September 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Mitsubishi has confirmed its all-new Eclipse Cross mid-sized SUV will cost from £21,275 when it goes on sale early next year.

From launch, all versions will be powered by an all-new 163hp 1.5-litre petrol engine, which can be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission.

Emissions are rated from 151g/km, while the most frugal version returns 42.8mpg.

The engine can be paired with two or four-wheel drive systems, the latter incorporating three driver modes: auto, snow and gravel.

Three trim levels are offered - 2, 3 and 4. Standard kit includes a touch-pad controller, smartphone display, audio that is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a rear-view camera, DAB radio, cruise control, climate control, air conditioning, LED daytime running lights and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Eclipse Cross 3 adds larger 18in wheels, a head-up display, heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, electric folding mirrors and an electric handbrake on automatic versions.

The top-of-the-range, '4' models, meanwhile, add leather trim, electrically adjustable driver's seat, electric-opening panoramic roof, a nine-speaker sound system as well as a number of driver assistance systems including LED headlights, a 360° parking camera, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist and adaptive cruise control.

In addition, a special 'First Edition' version will be available for a limited time. The First Edition is based on the Eclipse Cross 4 but is bolstered with a number of exclusive extras including a premium paint finish, carbon-finish bumper corner and side extension kit with red inserts, additional silver styling details to the front and rear, special First Edition floor mats with red trim and unique First Edition badging. Just 250 units will be produced, priced from £26,825.
