Sporty Skoda Kodiaq Sportline revealed ahead of Geneva debut

Date: 27 January 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Skoda has revealed a sporty version of its Kodiaq crossover ahead of its debut at the Geneva motor show in March.

Called the Sportline, this variant of the crossover features unique exterior and interior design elements.

It is powered by four engines - two petrol and two diesel - the most frugal of which is the 150hp 2.0-litre diesel, which emits 139g/km of CO2 and returns 53.3mpg, placing it in the 29% 2017/18 BIK band.

The Sportline features black detailing, including the radiator grille, roof rails, wing mirror housing, and side window trim, while the rear window and rear side windows are tinted.

Inside, the Sportline is based on the SE trim level, but adds sports seats with silver-coloured stitching, while the steering wheel and gearstick is leather-trimmed to create a sporty feel.

G-forces, the turbocharging pressure, temperatures, and current engine output are also displayed on the car's infotainment system.

The Sportline will join the recently announced rugged Scout version at the Geneva motor show. Prices and on-sale dates have not been announced for either, but expect more information to be available following the motor show.

When BusinessCar reviewed the standard Kodiaq in November we described it as "brilliantly packaged, stylish and economical choice in the seven-seat SUV arena", giving it a rare 10/10 rating.
