The start point for the best source of fleet information

Updated BMW 4 Series revealed

Date: 12 May 2017   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

BMW has facelifted its 4 Series sports car for 2017.

Changes to the exterior include a restyled front end, with larger air intakes, LED lights and new alloy wheel designs.

The facelifted model is on sale now.

The SE trim level has also been removed on the coupe and convertible, but not the Gran Coupe, meaning fleet customers have just two specification options - Sport or M Sport, depending on engine and transmission combinations.

Of interest to fleet customers will be the inclusion of a new Professional sat-nav system on M Sport cars, which features six tile icons which can be tailored to contain preferred content, such as music, navigation and the phone.

Meanwhile, the Apple CarPlay connectivity system is now an option, while the company's Connect app - which delivers journey information onto a user's smartphone - is standard on M Sport models.

BMW said it is expecting to sell 9,000 coupes, 4,000 convertibles and 10,000 Gran Coupes in the next 12 months, and while the German manufacturer didn't specify how many are going to go the fleet sector, it did provide an estimation on the best-selling versions.

Coupe: 420d with 29% of sales, followed by M4 (17% and 435d xDrive (13%

Convertible: 420d (34%), M4 (16%) and 435d xDrive (13%)

Gran Coupe: 420d (43%), 420d xDrive, (14%) and 435d xDrive (11%).
