DriveNow announces expansion

Date: 06 November 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Car sharing service DriveNow has expanded into five new London boroughs.

The service, owned by BMW Group, is now available in Westminster, Barnet, Tower Hamlets, Southwark and Brent, alongside the existing coverage areas of Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest.

The expansion will see an additional 410 BMW and Mini vehicles joining the fleet, making 720 in total.

Users can drive by the minute, or book an hourly or daily package with everything included, from insurance and fuel to parking and road tax.

Available models include the Mini Hatch, Mini Clubman, Mini Convertible, BMW 1 Series and the BMW i3 electric vehicle.

An additional 80 i3s are set to join the fleet in January.

DriveNow UK managing director James Taylor said: "More Londoners will now have access to a shared car when they need it.

"We've worked very closely with each of the boroughs throughout this process to make this a reality.

"We hope that car sharing, alongside other sustainable transport options such as walking, cycling and public transport, will continue to be embraced by Londoners to help reduce congestion and pollution, and build a more liveable city."

DriveNow also operates in Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Vienna, Copenhagen, Brussels, Milan, Helsinki and Lisbon, with more than 6,000 vehicles in total.
