He said: "Cazana's unique business model is one that is going to bring both value and enabling technology to the motor industry.

"I'm delighted to be joining the board as they continue to bring innovative data products to both the UK and international markets."

Cazana CEO Tom Wood said: "We are thrilled to have David join us as chairman. He's well respected in the automotive industry and his endorsement will go a long way to add to our credibility."

Cazana sales director Steve Worrell said: "This is a very exciting time for Cazana as we're rapidly expanding our client base in the UK and international expansion is on the horizon.

"It's great to get support from such well-known and respected industry experts like David."

Cazana is a used car search and indexing engine with more than 620,000 cars listed for sale, and also provides data to manufacturers and finance and leasing companies regarding residual values.
