DriveTech introduces e-Check service

Date: 31 May 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new electronic driving licence checking service has been announced by DriveTech.

The new e-Check service invites business drivers to complete an online form, including an e-signature, rather than producing a signed hard copy.

Once permission for a check is granted, the service conducts it with the DVLA, or DVA in Northern Ireland, and reports back to the employer and driver via DriveTech's FleetRiskManager portal.

The e-Check service can be used by UK and non-UK licence holders, and the only data capture required is a name and an email address.

DriveTech head of marketing Colin Paterson said: "We have invested a lot of development time and energy to develop our e-Check system to be a reliable, tested, licencing authority-approved system that can really help streamline this essential but often time-consuming process for responsible employers.

"We are really encouraged at the interest our customers have already shown during our early soft launch of the product over the last month and look forward to fully launching this new system in later June.

"It will of course go on to help employers determine which drivers in their fleet might benefit further from driver training support or interventions to help improve overall road safety and improve the business's risk profile."
