The start point for the best source of fleet information

FleetCheck software gets interval info

Information on vehicles' service and cambelt intervals has been added to FleetCheck's fleet management software.

The data, from Autodata, covers 142 manufacturers and 34,000 models, and is being added at no extra charge.

FleetCheck managing director Peter Golding said: "Some modern fleet cars and vans work on variable service intervals and will notify you when servicing is required.

"However, many don't, and it can be surprisingly difficult to find accurate service interval information for those vehicles.

"Sometimes, manufacturers even change the length of service intervals on the same models from model year to model year in response to technical changes or real-world operational experience, so it is something of a minefield."

Golding said there were a range of reasons for fleets to keep on top of service intervals.

"The most important of these is duty of care, ensuring that you are meeting manufacturer service and maintenance standards," he said.

"But, maintenance-by-the-book is also crucial to ensure the validity of your manufacturer warranty, to meet the SMR standards set by your leasing company and even to ensure that you are maintaining fleet residuals."

Golding said the data will be easily accessible for FleetCheck users.

"At a glance or through alerts, fleets will be able to see when the next service is due for each vehicle alongside other crucial service and maintenance compliance information such as the road tax due date," he said.
