Licence Bureau makes changes to senior team

Date: 12 March 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Driving licence checking firm Licence Bureau has announced one senior appointment and two board promotions.

Martin Starkey (pictured) joins the company as its first ever training and business development manager, while Steve Pinchen joins the board as sales director and Jamie Thomson as IT director.

Starkey has spent more than 20 years in the driver training industry with AA DriveTech, and takes on responsibility for delivering classroom and in-car training for Licence Bureau's fleet customers.

He has already introduced two new workshops with additional multi-choice modules, which have been trialled with construction firm Clancy Docwra and are now being rolled out to customers.

His appointment allows Licence Bureau to take training in-house as more companies look for external support for known risks such as distraction and fatigue, those with points on their licence, new employees and those who have been involved in an incident.

Pinchen's promotion follows five-and-a-half years as products and partnership development manager.

He will be responsible for growing sales directly with fleets or through partner organisations.

Thomson's promotion comes after four years with Licence Bureau and more than 17 years in the IT industry.

He will be instrumental in leading the firm's IT team to deliver a first-class experience for fleets and their drivers, including growing its current compliance portal and developing a range of new online products and services.

Licence Bureau managing director Malcolm Maycock said: "Martin's appointment is very exciting as it enables us to deliver our compliance journey completely in-house for the very first time.

"Steve's and Jamie's promotions are well deserved and will add further experience to our board as we continue to grow the business."
