Pod Point seals Jaguar Land Rover deal

Date: 08 June 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Charge point provider Pod Point has been awarded a preferred supplier agreement by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

The deal means Pod Point can offer to install chargers at retailers and drivers' homes for the new fully electric Jaguar I-Pace, and the Range Rover PHEV and Range Rover Sport PHEV plug-in hybrids.

Pod Point CEO Erik Fairbairn said: "We're delighted to be working with JLR, particularly following the launch of the I-Pace, which was a very exciting moment for our industry.

"Likewise, working with high-profile brands like Land Rover as they launch their first plug-in models is another landmark achievement for Pod Point."

The I-Pace has a 90kW/h battery delivering a range of 298 miles on a WLTP cycle, while the Range Rover PHEV and Range Rover Sport PHEV have a battery-only range of 31 miles.

As well as providing home and workplace charging, Pod Point runs one of the UK's largest free public charging networks at destinations such as retail parks, supermarkets, service stations and strategic motorway locations.

EV drivers can charge for free at 90% of Pod Point's 2,500 public charge points.
