Prices and specs announced for facelifted Hyundai i20

Date: 27 June 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Hyundai has confirmed UK prices and specifications for its revised i20 supermini, which is on sale now.

The new-look i20 is available as a five-door model only, with the three-door currently discontinued in the UK and the SUV-inspired Active under review.

Styling tweaks for the revised i20 include a redesigned grille, new-look front and rear bumpers, new front fog lights and a redesigned tailgate with new tail lights.

The whole range now comes as standard with a 7in multimedia display, DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a rear view camera, Bluetooth connectivity with steering wheel controls and automatic headlights.

From SE trim and upwards, standard safety equipment now includes autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, driver attention alert and high beam assist.

Four petrol engine options are available - a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre with 75hp or 84hp, and a turbocharged 1.0-litre with 100hp or 120hp.

The best official combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are achieved by the 100hp engine, at 56.5mpg and 114g/km respectively.

The naturally aspirated engines come with a five-speed manual gearbox, the 120hp engine comes with a six-speed manual, and the 100hp engine comes with either a five-speed manual or an optional seven-speed dual clutch automatic, which replaces the automatic transmission from the outgoing model.

Prices for the revised i20 start at £13,995 for S trim, rising to £15,495 for SE trim, £16,245 for Premium Nav trim and £17,295 for range-topping Premium Nav SE trim.

Equipment gained by SE trim over S trim includes rear parking sensors, cruise control with speed limiter and electric rear windows.

Premium Nav adds equipment including sat-nav, a rear view camera, climate control and automatic wipers, while Premium Nav SE also adds equipment including a smart key with push button engine start/stop, a panoramic sunroof, and heated front seats and steering wheel.
