TRL appoints sales and marketing director

Date: 18 April 2018   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Transport and mobility research organisation TRL has named Chrys Stevenson as its new sales and marketing director.

TRL says Stevenson is tasked with leading the organisation's business-winning activities at home and in the international arena, and brings a deep understanding of the transport sector and a proven track record of growing innovation-led institutions.

Starting out in military vehicle research and development, Stevenson has worked extensively with government agencies delivering on various objectives across the defence and security sectors.

From 2000 onwards he was a senior leader at QinetiQ, a UK FTSE 250 defence and security company, where he progressed to CEO of its US-based export business before leaving to join TRL.

Stevenson said: "I am extremely excited to be joining an organisation that plays such a pivotal role in surface transport innovation.

"We are at a critical time in the transport industry, with rapid development taking place across the board.

"This revolution isn't just about new technology. To ensure safe and positive societal outcomes, it's vital that full consideration is given to the way in which technology is implemented.

"I have strong experience in guiding companies through transitioning markets, so will be doing all I can to ensure TRL remains a market leader in the future of transport."

TRL CEO Rob Wallis said: "I am delighted to welcome Chrys to the TRL executive leadership team. His knowledge of the sector and years of business-winning experience will play an integral part in TRL achieving its goals."
