New engines for Ford Galaxy and S-max

Date: 28 May 2008

Ford had introduced two new engines to its Galaxy and S-max ranges.

Both vehicles now come with a new 175PS 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre flexifuel engine that runs on a mix of bioethanol and petrol.

The new 2.2-litre TDCi engine is only available in the top spec models for each car and produces 179g/km in the Galaxy and 276g/km CO2 in the S-max.

There have been changes to specification, too, with the Galaxy Ghia gaining new 17-inch alloys, rear aircon and the sun-reflecting windscreen, while the high level S-max Titanium adds a sun-reflecting windscreen and chrome door handles as standard.

Both cars also now benefit from Bluetooth as standard across the range.
