Renault adds coupe to all-new Megane range

Date: 02 October 2008

Renault has revealed a coupe version of the all-new Megane alongside the five-door hatch first shown last month.

The coupe is the second of six models that will be included in the Megane line-up by the end of next year.

The French manufacturer claims that on average the new Meganes are 8kg lighter than their equivalent predecessor. This will lead to improved efficiency with better CO2 and mpg figures.

Commenting on the engine range a Renault spokesman said: "The dCi 85 and dCi 105 engines have been joined by the dCi 90 and the particulate filter-equipped dCi 110. Every one of these engines emits less than 121g/km of CO2/km (118g/km for dCi 85 and 90, 120g/km for dCi 105 and110) while the new dCi 130 profits from the dCi range's most advanced technology to return CO2 emissions of just 135g/km."

The Megane hatch and coupe will go on sale in early 2009.
