The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2008 - Manufacturer: Audi

Date: 22 January 2008

For the second year running, Audi has been voted Manufacturer of the Year. That's not a surprising result given its sales performance - it seems Audi is now the business brand of choice.

Audi's sales were up 27% in 2007, making the firm the fastest-growing fleet brand. That retail performance translates into a total fleet sales volume last year of more than 57,000 cars.

All models have seen a double-digit rise in sales, the A6 in particular impressing with a 50% increase.

It's not only been the quality of the prestige German brand's cars and their driver appeal that has counted, but also the expansion in the number of models available and the way Audi's fleet team treats the market.

A new TT and the all-new Q7 and A5 have particularly boosted sales, not to forget the R8 supercar, and there's a host of new models on the way in the next year or two.

The past year saw Audi jump five places to take third spot in BusinessCar's website-rating feature, which ranks the top 20 fleet-car makers' online presence.

At the time we praised Audi for having "a slick, stylish site - a fine online reflection of Audi's cars. It's quick and easy to download prices and specifications, and the directory of phone numbers for the team is a nice touch".

The outlook for Audi in 2008 is impressive too. There are several new-model launches, including an all-new A4, which arrives in the UK in March, a smaller 4x4 in the shape of the Q5, an A3 convertible and, further off, a BMW Mini rival. That car is a new A2, shown a few months ago as the Metrocity concept.
