While the M35's exterior is very much 'conservative sporty saloon' the interior in 'S' trim is slicker, with carbon fibre effects, exposed stitching on leather and a fantastic-sounding Bose stereo. Rear room is great too.
On a brief drive the 275PS V6 (to be replaced by a 320PS 3.7 for the UK) seemed refined with a decent uncomplicated ride. Expect high spec and safety for BMW 5-series money.
This Audi A6 rival comes later to UK shores in 2010 as a second-generation model with a diesel option. If the first generation model is anything to go by it should be a smart car.
