Mitsubishi's getting its i in

Date: 18 February 2007

Mitsubishi has confirmed that it will import the i citycar it's been evaluating for the past few months.

The four-seater, already a cult car in Japan, will cost £8999 when it's launched in July, initially limited to just 300 units. There's only one trim level, which is well specc'd for the sector with auto transmission, climate control, CD player and electric folding mirrors.

Power comes from a rear-mounted 660cc three-cylinder engine delivering 64PS. Fuel economy and emissions test will be carried out in the coming months, ahead of the car's launch.
