Renault answers Clio II criticism

Date: 29 March 2007

Renault Clio Campus

Renault has written to all Clio II and Clio Campus customers, including fleets, to advise them to have their bonnet catch checked by a dealer.

The move follows a long-running BBC Watchdog investigation which claimed that if these catches were poorly maintained bonnets could pop open when driving at motorway speeds.

It is thought that few corporate customers are likely to experience the problem as only cars three years or older have suffered from bonnets opening while the car was being driven.
